A plane is a flat surface like a board. It is usually thought of as having two dimensions, usually height and width. An inclined plane is a flat surface that is sloped or tilted at an angle. A ramp is a common example of an inclined plane. It is easier to walk up a ramp than it is to walk up stairs. It is usually easier to push or pull a heavy object up a ramp than it is to lift it. The tutorial shows you some common inclined planes and describes how they make work easier.
